Panasonic has been resolutely sticking with CCD technology for its camcorders, where even JVC has switched over to CMOS sensors for its latest GZ-HD10 and GZ-HD40. Now, with the HDC-SD100, even this last bastion is making the switch. But instead of moving from its former three-CCD to a single larger CMOS like the rest, Panasonic has opted for three-CMOS instead, which it is calling 3MOS.

At long last, a speaker dock that doesn’t have the “i” prefix in it to indicate it’s preference for the iPod family. The CVT Multimedia Center, however, caters to both iPods and iPhones with a fervor. A whole slew of new Sony Walkman hit the New Zealand site, and we have the goods on them. The new models, called NWZ-E435, E436-NWZ and NWZ-E438 all sports 2-inch QVGA LCD display, FM tuner, codec support for MP3, AAC, WMA and files PCM linear, and a clock, an very small 8.5mm / 50g. The players will be available in 2GB, 4GB, or variations of 8 Go, with different color options for each model (except for NWZ-E438, which comes only in black). Apparently, the PGR play nice with Windows Media Player and iTunes, offering drag and drop files for management. No word yet on prices, regions, or release date, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for these sweet babies. [
